Meet Your Outer Banks Wedding Florist

When couples begin planning their wedding flowers, they’re often thinking about color palettes, inspiration photos, and favorite blooms.

But to me, wedding flowers have always meant something deeper.

Flowers help tell the story of a wedding day.

They bring beauty, yes—but they also help create feeling.

They soften a space, tie details together, and bring a sense of cohesion to everything from the ceremony to the reception. They help shape the atmosphere your guests experience and the memories you carry long after the day is over.

That belief is at the heart of Ivy & Bloom.

My Journey Into Wedding Flowers

I began working in the wedding floral industry in 2014, designing flowers for coastal weddings in California.

From the beginning, I was drawn to more than the flowers themselves.

What captivated me most was the emotional meaning behind weddings.

There is something deeply special about witnessing two people celebrate their love and commitment to one another.

A wedding is never just about the couple standing at the altar.

It is also about the people who helped shape them.

Family.
Friendships.
Shared history.
Community.

I’ve always loved the meaningful connection a wedding creates—bringing together the people who matter most to celebrate a love story unfolding in real time.

That kind of beauty never gets old.

Why I Love Designing for Coastal Weddings

Today, my family and I are raising our children in the small coastal community where we fell in love years ago, here in the Outer Banks.

There is something magical about this stretch of coastline.

The dunes.
The sea oats.
The changing light.
The way the breeze moves through everything.

It’s a place that naturally invites presence.

And I believe wedding flowers should feel connected to that environment.

As an Outer Banks wedding florist, I’m especially drawn to floral design that feels organic, romantic, and timeless.

I love movement and texture over stiff or overly structured designs.

I’m inspired by garden roses, ranunculus, wildflowers, and airy grasses that echo the natural beauty of the coast.

My design philosophy is simple:

Create flowers that feel elevated but approachable.
Beautiful but never forced.
Coastal, but never cliché.

The Couples I Love Working With

The couples I connect with most are those who care deeply about the experience they’re creating.

They’re excited to celebrate their love in a meaningful way.

They value beauty, but not just for appearances.

They care about how the day feels.

They want a wedding that reflects their story—one that feels warm, intentional, and memorable.

They want to gather the people they love most and create a celebration that feels joyful, personal, and deeply meaningful.

Whether that looks like an intimate ceremony on Hatteras Island or a large coastal celebration with family and friends, the heart of it is the same.

Love deserves to be celebrated beautifully.

A Few Things About Me

Beyond flowers, I’m someone who finds beauty in thoughtful details.

I love books.
I love meaningful conversation.
I love creating spaces that help people feel connected.

Those things naturally influence how I approach floral design.

Because at the end of the day, flowers are not just décor.

They are part of the story.

Final Thoughts

Flowers matter because they bring beauty while tying every detail together.

They create flow between colors, textures, and spaces.

They help transform a wedding from simply beautiful to deeply memorable.

At Ivy & Bloom, my hope is to create wedding flowers that feel personal, timeless, and reflective of your story.

Flowers that feel at home on this beautiful sandbar.

Flowers that move with the breeze.

Flowers that help celebrate your love.
